Golly gee willikers, fellow Eddheads! It's been awhile since I last reviewed an Eddsworld short. Since it's a new year, the latest Eddsworld short literally being called New Year, New You, I might right as well give it a try again. 

So the episode starts off with a very detailed title card. I normally don't talk about the title cards in Eddsworld, but I really the title card in this short. I find it really cute. I especially love the drawing of the main trio with a very swol Edd, a tiny Tom flexing his very tiny arms, and Matt with... a chin full of abs. Hmm.... I sure wonder who drew that. Place your guesses in the comments below. Also, I see an eviction notice. I hope someone's paying for it. 

On the topic of title cards, New Year, New You!'s title card has to be my second favorite out of the Beyond era while Beaster Bunny's title card sits at first place due to me liking the Easter aesthetic of it. 

Anyway, after the title card, we see Edd, Tom, and Matt working out as part of their New Year resolution which isn't bad. It's always good to move around so your body won't breakdown on you.

Eventually, the door bell rings and Tom goes to see who it is only to get thrown into a wall. Edd asks Tom who the person at the door is and Tom says that it was the new them. The camera quickly cuts to the new, yet very uncanny, versions of the trio.

Also, there's a Ringo poster on the wall that says "Hang in There". I actually want that poster on my wall. 

Anyway, the trio screams in horror as their new uncanny selves slowly approach them and lock them up in a room that is filled with the Classic and Legacy era versions of themselves. 

And that's the end of the short. 

So, what do I think of it? 

Well I..... actually loved it! Despite it being a minute long, it was really enjoyable. I especially loved seeing the Classic and Legacy eras. It was good to them again. I really want to know who's in the box that's labeled Spares. It could be one of the clones. However, I wasn't a fan of how the Classic versions of the trio looked. They appeared to be a little washed out giving them off appearance but I'm not going to hold it against the short. But hey, it was really cool hearing Matt do a voice impression of the old version of his character which mimics the audio quality of the older episodes.

More specifically a 10/10 and no, this isn't the only Beyond episode that I gave a 10/10 to. I gave one to Casting Call and Zombeh Picnic

Oh hey, congrats on surviving 2023. You must've been through a lot just to get to 2024. Unfortunately, not everyone made it to the new year and that everyone would be TBATF.

In case if you didn't know or haven't been in the fandom for quite awhile, back in July 2022, the people behind TBATF announced that the comic would be on hiatus. A full year later, it was announced in December of last year, that the comic has been cancelled which nobody saw coming.

i was really looking forward to seeing what chapter 9 would be like but I guess that's not happening. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. What made it worse is that the TBATF crew didn't bother on sharing what happens next or share the screenshots to their roleplay which the comic was based off of. Instead of doing that, they let the comic go off with a sad whimper. 

*sighs* 

You know... I wasn't always a hater towards this comic. At some point I used to really like it especially when chapter 1 was released. At the time, I thought it had a really interesting concept and it there were some story elements that were never done.

To this day, I consider the first chapters as being the best chapters out of the entire comic. I wasn't a fan of chapter 3 but it was an alright chapter. If I were to recommend the comic to people who are curious, I would say read the first three chapters and don't bother reading the other five chapters. Instead make up what happens in the story as your own continuation because it all goes downhill after chapter 4. Trust me. 

Whenever I would make a review on each new TBATF chapter, I would put a disclaimer saying that if you like comic than don't let my opinions ruin your enjoyment. I'm not here to tell you to stop liking what you like, but I beg you, please don't ignore the disgusting actions of the people who made the comic. 

Speaking of actions, let's go over all the sins that the TBATF crew committed one last time, shall we.

*clears throat* 

- Being total a-holes towards people who wanted to join them during cosplay conventions? Check

 - Drawing their original female characters to be overly sexual while completely ignoring that their fanbase is filled with minors? Check 

-Drawing Tord in nazi imagery and even as going as far as to making him into one? Check 

- Jax telling a kid to go off themself on their birthday and completely denying it despite there being proof? Check 

- Calling all the people who dislike the comic "dEDDheads" which is really disrespectful towards the real Edd? Check

- Drawing Tord in a tub full of over sexualized women and calling Matt a "nosey f**ker" when he discovered it? Check 

- Blocking a whole bunch of people including a few mods (which was against the rules) for criticizing their comic and their actions which lead them to getting banned from the Eddsworld Amino?

Check 

- Bad stereotyping of characters with the prime example of Vlahd being a typical evil Russian man with little to no personality mixed with bad Russian translations that were seemingly pulled from Google translate? Check

 - Racism with Tord having a wife in their Steampunk AU that was Asian and was portrayed as being abusive along with Edd being disguised as a fortune teller which is really offensive towards Romani people? Check 

- Having a scene in the comic where Edd gets sexually assaulted by a bunch of anime girls while playing it off as a joke? Oh hohohoho, checkity check check 

I'm pretty sure that I've missed a few other things that they did but these are the ones that I can recall at the time of my mind. Feel free to remind me of them in the comments below.

Anyway, the biggest offender has to be the one scene in the comic where Edd gets SA'd. If you're wondering where in the comic, it's in Chapter 3 page 21. Anywho, the TBATF thought that Edd getting SA'd was funny and they would tell people that he was consenting.

As the Lbat Attorney and basically Edd's attorney as well, I would like to say: OBJECTION!!! 

Edd was not consenting and if you can see by his facial expression, he was panicking and he was calling out for help. I would also like to point out that after he was freed, he looked really uncomfortable. TBATF crew you should be ashamed of yourselves for thinking that SA is funny and it doesn't help that you decided to use the main character of the series for this quote-unquote "joke". SA isn't funny and it never will be. 

If you to bring up your issues with the comic you would get blocked. Yeah, you heard that right. The TBATF crew have a habit of blocking people who aren't blindly praising them and their comic 24/7. Do you like the comic but want to give some suggestions or have a problem with the comic? Prepare to die. Hate the comic? Prepare to die. Want to critic the comic? Prepare to die. Want to breathe in their direction while passing them by on the street? Oh ho, you're in the jungle now, baby. You're going down. 

So yeah, TL;DR: the TBATF crew are awful people. Well, not all of them. I haven't heard anything bad about Fishiecomics. They're kinda like Aly and tend to be quiet; however, I could be wrong on that. So, feel free to correct me in the comments.

(Editing Lbat: Hey uh, this is future Lbat and I apologize for the interruption. I originally had this part in my drafts but ended up not putting it in. So, while I looking to see what the TBATF crew have been up to after taking a long hiatus, I discovered that Kenz blocked me on Twitter. I have no idea when she did this and to be honest, I didn't know she had a Twitter account up until now and if I did knew about it, I wouldn't dare interact with any of her tweets.

I'm assuming she saw my name pop up in the main eddsworld tag and proceeded to block me on spot. If that's the case than she only made herself look worse. It's been five years since I made that rant and a lot of things have changed.

However, the one thing that hasn't changed is that the TBATF crew are all awful people, but Kenz is the absolute worst out of the four. This lady is literally 30 years old and she's acting like a soiled two year old when she gets criticized by someone. Anyway, I would like to end this part off by saying this: Kenz, if you're somehow reading this and have made this far, I hope you step on a Lego brick every time you wake up in the morning. Alright, that's enough of me. Back to the show) 

Alright, that's enough of the TBATF crew. It's time to talk about the comic and oh boy, where do I even start. I guess we start off with some small pet peeves that I have with it. 

Small Pet Peeves

Like I said earlier, TBATF had a very interesting concept and had pretty good ideas on paper. It's too bad that some of those ideas were executed poorly. I'm still mad about that whole Cyberus thing from Chapter 7 pt. 2. 

Cyberus was based on one of my favorite creatures in Greek mythology. The design could've been better but I was hoping that its role in the chapter would make up for it. It's too bad that everything surrounding it was muddled in stupidity. Sure there was a lot of build up to it being an opposing threat as it lurked in the shadows while Matt was unaware that he was being hunted down, but instead of having any sense of tension, Cyberus had to go out like a little... *clears throat*.. b word in the most underwhelming way as possible.

I feel like that one Simpsons meme, you know the one where Principle Skinner is looking down on something while saying "pathetic", that's basically me when I whenever look at Cyberus. So pathetic and so disappointing. 

There's some moments in the comic that ended up going nowhere and basically became wasted potential. The biggest had to be the time where Edd was working for Tord at the end of chapter 4. I remember the hype surrounding it and even I was on board with the idea of Green Leader and Red Leader working together. It would've been really cool to see. Just imagine the shock on both Tom and Matt's face when they see Edd standing side by side with Tord. Unfortunately, it didn't happen, but man... I'd rather have Edd working with Tord than whatever we got instead. 

The only likable original characters in the comic were both Vlahd and Richard because they had personality unlike the original female characters. Don't even get me on started on them. I know that female characters don't appear that often in Eddsworld but they weren't made to eye candy. The female oc characters are so god damn one dimensional and apparently they have names which I can't even remember because they don't serve any purpose. The only one that does have some personality is the blonde general lady known as Karen aka Brianna but she's just so unlikeable to the point where I just don't care.

Hey, TBATF crew, I hope you don't mind me stealing Vlahd and Richard. They're my legally characters now and there's nothing you can do about it. Speaking of Vlahd, the power scaling in this comic can be really inconsistent at times. Like Edd is able to break reality in this comic which I can't take seriously. It's so stupid. Vlahd on the other hand is really strong. In chapter 5, he was able to burst through a wall and was able to beat up both Tom and Matt with no problem. Alright, it makes sense since Vlahd has a lot of military combat experience while Tom and Matt don't. Then when Tom turns into a monster, Tom had the upper advantage against Vlahd who was struggling. 

Are you guys following? Good. Now explain to me how Vlahd managed to beat up Tom's monster form in chapter 7 pt. 2. One minute Vlahd was struggling and in the next minute, Vlahd is able to beat the monster out of Tom. Tell me how? Because this doesn't make any sense. Sure, maybe you could say that Tom felt fear when Vlahd looked at him, but he was staring at Vlahd right in the eye in chapter 5. Maybe, it had something to do with Tom's visor getting fried by cola. I don't know and I don't care. My brains hurts trying to figure out the logic behind any of this. 

TL;DR: The power scaling in this comic is inconsistent and so is Vlahd's strength. I'm still mad about the whole Vlahd getting beaten by getting electrocuted and scratched by Tord. The scratch part I understand, but Vlahd literally had Tord in a chokehold and Vlahd was shown to be able to break Tord's robot arm in a panel. 

Back on the topic of personality, it's time for the segment that are you were waiting for

Character Derailment

Oh boy, we're finally at the part of how each character got butchered in terms of personality. Just a bit of a disclaimer, I'm not approach this like an animal. I will be starting off with the characters from least butchered to most butchered. Before we begin, I would like point out the TBATF crew said that watched every single of Eddsworld to get their personalities right. However, as a fanfic writer myself, I would like to say that there isn't a correct way or a wrong way on how you should write the characters. It mostly depends on the episode and how the characters would react.

The only advice I could give to someone is that put Edd, Tom, and Matt in a room or basically anywhere and have them interact with their surroundings. Start off slow and just let the interactions flow. Alright, that's enough of the Eddsworld school lesson, let's talk about how the characters are prorated in this comic

Paul and Patryck - These two are the only ones weren't butchered because they don't appear all that often and it's worth knowing that these only had a few lines together in the actual series. They're the only likeable characters but I wasn't a fan of them getting bullied by Karen- I mean Brianna. However, I'm glad that Paul and Patryck worked together with Matt to make Karen's life miserable so I can't be too mad.

The neighbors - All of them were portrayed rather well in their first appearance in chapter 4 where they mocked Tom's plan. However, that was the last we saw them, not counting the one meanwhile comic. In later chapters, both Mark and Todd are dead and what makes it worse is that we didn't get to know how they were killed. I'm a huge neighbors fan, but I am pissed at this.

At least Eduardo's alive but.... it's just painful to watch him. Eduardo in this comic only knows one emotion and that constant anger. There's not even a scene in this comic where Eduardo is mourning the lost of his friends. He's just angry for the sake of being angry. In the series, Eduardo was shown to have emotions of fear when a missile was targeting at his house, showing sadness when Jon died, showing concern when Edd gets hurt by monster Tom even going as far as to save him, and there some scenes where Eduardo can really chill. The TBATF crew would've known about this if they didn't threw every character positive character traits out the window, but what I know? I'm a dEddhead according to them meaning that I'm not a real Eddsworld fan. 

Tom - Tom started off really good at the start of the comic, he peaked in chapters 3 and 4, and ended up falling off of a cliff after chapter 5. He became a nothing character or what I like to call him, a prop. He would end up vanishing out existence only to be brought back when the TBATF crew remembered that he has a role of being a mind controlled slave following Tord's orders.

I'm not a fan of the whole Tom being mind controlled by Tord trope and I don't plan on going into detail as to why. I'm saving it for a different time. I've seen this trope happen in fan content so many times to the point where I'm just sick of seeing it. Can we please let this trope die? 

Matt - Oh my god, I hate what they did to him and this coming from a person who's comfort character is literally Matt. Matt started off good at the beginning up until chapter 7 pt. 2 (well chapter 6) where he's treated like an absolute joke. Matt on this comic has been portrayed as being stupid and sometimes smart. However, his smartness is far and a few between while his stupidity is his main trait to the point where it's just infuriating to look to at.

Some of the decisions that he makes in later chapters due to plot reasons gives me pain. Like why did he stopped trying to help free Eduardo? Why didn't he just drag Tom somewhere else when he got the perfect chance to go near him while nobody was looking? Why was he sneezing so much when he hiding from Cyberus? I get he's allergic to dogs, but he didn't have to sneeze every time. Like why!? 

Edd - *sighs with a tears in my eyes*.... Look, how they masscared my boy. ....My sweet baby boy. ....My favorite bastard boy that wears a green hoodie. It hurts, it hurts so much. Edd was handled really well from the start of the comic and while he did some moments that were a bit jarring, the way how he reacted toward everything made up it. That is until chapter 3 where he gets SA'd and what made it worse is that Matt was the closest to him and he didn't even notice that Edd was being surrounded by anime girls. Surely nothing could be worse than Edd getting SA'd, right? Right? Edd wouldn't be in the second entry if that was case. 

So, who wants to hear a story of how I get these scars? It's a little something called chapter 5. I don't think I've ever made it clear but I really, really, REALLY despise this chapter and it's because of how Edd was treated. So, basically Edd and Tord make a deal which involves Edd getting cola. However, Tord lies and betrays him which causes Edd to get really angry and storms out while leaving both Tom and Matt behind. I repeat, Edd left Tom and Matt behind after he was betrayed by Tord all because Edd wanted cola.

Do you see what's wrong with this picture? Yes, Edd can be a jerk in the series, but he wouldn't leave his friends behind especially when they are in danger and are almost beaten to death. I get Edd wanted cola, but this wasn't the way to get it. If you think things can't any worse, fast forward to the future where Edd is now Future Edd and he is now very depressed to the point where it's just so painful to watch. Future Edd is a beloved character and he gave us a look into a bleak reality where Edd lost everything and wants to kill his past self. WTFuture gave us so many questions and what does the TBATF crew do with it? Well, they made this version of Future Edd so unbearable. How lovely. 

Now, not everything is bad. I did enjoy the moment where Edd reunites with Ringo until the moment is ruined when the Tord's army finds him and he ends up abandoning her on the streets.

*inhales* Boi!! 

Why would you leave Ringo to die like that!? I get that your life is one the line but what's stopping you from taking your beloved pet cat with you? Oh wait, plot reasons. 

Oh and that's not the end of it. While being chased around by Vlahd (and basically everything else that's out to get him, but mostly Vlahd), he makes puns EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Edd, are you trying to get yourself killed? Are you that desperate to die? We get it, TBATF crew!! Edd likes to make puns!! You don't have to spell it out for us!!! WE'RE NOT F**KING IDIOTS!!! 

So yeah, long story short: I hate Edd's portrayal in the later chapters. They completely ruined the main character of the series and they made him so god damn unlikable which is why I gave him the name Discount Edd because he's not the Edd that I know. He's an imposter. A faker. 

Tord - I'll be honest here, I was considering to have Edd and Tord as one entry because they're both equally bad. However, after taking the time to think about it, Tord is the worst character in this entire comic which means that I can finally let loose all of anger and nobody will get mad. In fact, I believe that we all come together and agree that Tord got beaten up like a dead animal. 

So where did the killing of Tord's personality happened exactly? It can't be the chapter he was introduced in since it was actually good. Hmm.... oh? Hey, it's chapter 5 again. Wait.... oh no. I know I keep bringing up chapter 5 but this was chapter were all character personalities went to die and oh boy, did Tord's personality died that day.

I'm not going to sugar coat it, they made Tord into a straight up nazi both appearance wise and personality wise. He went from a person who seemed to have evil motives behind the scenes to a cartoon villain with no redeeming qualities. On the topic of motives, he has none. It's never explained why he wants to take over London and the world nor what his ambitions.

I'm sure that there's probably an explanation and if there was one, the comic did a poor job at explaining. Every story has a villain that has goals that rivals the protagonist's goal. A villain usually has a motive as why they think they're doing is good. Some villains like the destruction that their plans bring while some villains are sympathetic which you can relate to.

So, does Tord have any goals that rivals the goals of the main trio? No. Is Tord sympathetic? Nope. Does Tord enjoy the destruction that happens? Well, uhh.... he seems to enjoy it I guess. 

That's one out of three questions answered but what made Tord come up with the idea to the rule the world? What makes Tord tick? Something must've happened. Well dear audience, he was always evil especially back in preschool which is an insult to all preschoolers. No child acts evil at such a young age and if they did, than that would be really concerning.

Oh, but that's not all, the TBATF crew thought it was a good idea give Tord a mental disorder which is APSD (Anti-social Personality Disorder; mostly called Sociopathy for short). I would like to clarify, you are allowed to give a character a mental disorder, but you have to do your research. You can't just slap it onto them without any thought or reason.

Did the TBATF crew do their research before giving Tord a mental disorder? Of course they didn't. I wouldn't be talking about this if they did do their research. To add insult to injury, they gave Tord medication to manage his APSD but they also make him not take it. But wait, it's get much worse. The TBATF crew actually made Tord's mental disorder the reason why he's evil which is really ableist to people that actually suffer from APSD. 

Before I lose my sanity, I would like to congratulate Tord. He is officially the worst character in this entire comic.

Welcome to the jungle, baby. God, I'm so done with this. I need another drink... *takes out another bottle of alcohol and starts chugging it down* 

BONUS ROUND

Oh golly gee, I've been really negative towards both chapter 5 and the later chapters, but mostly toward chapter 5. Seriously though, f**k chapter 5. There are two positive things that I can say about the later chapters. Those being: 

1) Laurel only appeared for a spilt second and was lucky enough to not get her personality absolutely destroyed. Thank god. 

And 2) The uniforms that the Red Army were wearing look pretty nice. I love really dig the red and black uniforms. 

Unfortunately, the colors do not work on Tord. Yeah, we're going to be talking about Tord's uniform because oh dear lord, what the hell is up with this design? It looks so awful and I hate it. 

Why is there so many shades of red red!? I get that he's the Red Leader but this is too much. I know there's lines that tell you where his robot arm and hoodie start and end but that's only if you're looking really closely. When you're not looking closely, the lines just blend together and it just looks messy. Also, what is up with that blade thing that's on the top top of his robot arm? Also, what is up with those gun hoisters that are on his sides in some scenes? Do the TBATF crew think that they look cool? Well, they don't look cool to me. They look stupid. The same can be said about that stupid super villain cape that he's wearing. 

I'm assuming that the TBATF crew were basing the uniform design from the Red Leader concept art from the Super Average project that was canned due to Edd's death and if that was the case, they failed miserably with what they came up with. I've seen hundreds upon hundreds of Red Leader fanart each with a different uniform design. You are allowed to be creative but you have make sure it looks good and don't have Tord look like a nazi.

If I had it my way in designing a uniform for Tord in this comic, I would keep the black and yellow that he has on his sleeves. I would make the coat blue to match the coat that he was wearing in his debut chapter. I would also get ride of the blade and replace it with the bandages that he had back in chapter 2. I would get rid of the cape along with the black scars that are on the right side of his face because he looks like moldy cheese. I would also get rid of the red glowing eye and replace it with an eyepatch since I don't like it. For the finishing touch I would give Tord his spiked helmet. 

See, does sound better than what we got? Of course it does. Anyway, I just wanted to do complain about Tord's uniform for a few minutes. Moving on. 

The End of TBATF-vangelion

It's over. I can't believe it but it's finally over. TBATF is done. Like I said in the beginning, TBATF had a very interesting concept but it was poorly executed.

So, what's next? Well, we do what the Eddsworld fandom is known to do when it comes to fan content. Whenever a piece of fan content goes into the sunset, a new creation rises up from its ashes like a phoenix. I'm hoping that someone out there will create something better than TBATF or perhaps recreate it in their own way.

There is someone that did repurpose the concept of TBATF and that person is no other than SofArtfactory who created the story, Protect: Tord. I have to say after reading the first three chapters, their story is really good and it's better than TBATF. I highly recommend checking it out. The story is on Wattpad just search up the words "protect: tord" and you'll find it. Also, it's their first story so remember to be nice when leaving a critique.

There's also a parody of TBATF that was created by The Amazing Meh on YouTube and that too is also very good. Go check it out. 

You're probably thinking this: "Lbat what's going to happen now that TBATF is over?" 

Well, I plan do on reviewing more Eddsworld and probably review fan content. I'm sad that I won't be reviewing chapter 9 but I'm also happy that the comic is over. Reading each page and panel to a chapter is pretty exhausting but I did it because I saw that nobody was reviewing the chapter. So, I was the one that would take the bullet so nobody had to. Don't thank me, you're welcome.

I would like to say thank you to TBATF for helping me get to where I am right now. Sure, we may gotten off on the wrong foot but thanks for encouraging me to write. 

"Hey Lbat, will you recreate TBATF in the future or maybe give a retrospect of the comic?" 

I do have plan on reviewing the entire comic for its 10 year anniversary. As for recreating TBATF, I thinking about doing it; however, it's going to take a longtime because I'll probably just reboot the entire thing. I'll keep concept though and put my own twist into it.

Merry Christmas, fellow Eddheads! I'm your host Lbat1901 coming at you with another Eddsworld episode review to celebrate that special time of year.

In case, if you've missed it, I did a Halloween special and I ended up doing a big oof moment which resulted me becoming a zombeh. Yeah.... but hey, at least I had a great time. 

So, what we are reviewing today? Well, we will be taking a look at Eddsworld Christmas Special 2005. Yeah, we're going back in time two years before 2007 but let's not dwell on that. Let's get into the review.

The Plot

Eddsworld Christmas Special 2005 was released onto Newgrounds on December 2nd 2005 and later onto YouTube on March 16th 2016. The episode itself is loosely based on A Christmas Carol but it is mostly a parody of the 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life which a good majority of you have never seen nor heard of because all of you are probably very young. 

Well, you're not alone on this. I've never heard of it until my grandma decided to put it on every year for Christmas. I would say that the movie is worth checking out if you're curious. 

Anywho, the episode starts off with Edd, Tom, and Tord in the Eddsworld Studios Building. We see Tord shaking off a blonde woman off his leg while Tom and Edd watch. Once Tge lady was off Tord's leg, the boys go into an elevator as they have a conversation. Tom asks Edd what he did during the weekend which cuts to Edd sitting silently in a blank white room. 

This scene basically sums up my two brain cells whenever I have to take a final exam at school. ....You didn't have to call me out like that, Edd. 

Once getting out of the elevator, the three boys walk down a hallways while Tom tells a joke. Tom and Tord continue to walk down the hallways as Edd heads to office where we get a top down view of him entering his office and walking towards his desk. Once he sits down, he begins drinking a lot of cola before passing out. 

While sleeping, Edd's guardian angel appears and wakes up Edd. The guardian angel tells him that he'll show Edd a world where he never existed. Edd confused, asks the angel why which the angel replies saying that he'll get his wings. 

The angel then pulls out a remote controller device and presses a button causing a portal to appear. The two get sucked into the portal and are transported to a alternate universe where Edd was never born. The angel takes Edd to Tord's house which Edd states that the house was his not Tord's. The angel says that in this universe, Tord owns the house since Edd was never born. While looking through one of the windows of the house, the angel explains that Tord was never nagged at and ended up making a famous comic strip and became a full blown communist which resulted in Tord getting arrested when he almost took over Norway. 

Once Tord walks out of the house, Edd suddenly comes up to him and shakes him which Tord gives off the same exact expression that I make whenever I see a random dog come up to me out of nowhere. 

The angel tells Edd that Tord doesn't recognize him because he was never born. The two watch Tord walk off before Edd asks if Tord still liked cola. The angel says that he doesn't stating that Eddd wasn't there to share it nor buy any cola products. The Angel adds on to this saying that cola sales plummeted and the company eventually had to shut down which causes Edd to scream in terror. 

Uh oh, WTFuture called. They want their idea of cola not being a thing back even though WTFuture came out about four years later. 

The two see Tom who in this universe has a completely different hairstyle, has glasses, and is now wearing scarf around his neck. The angel explains that since Edd never existed, he didn't fuel Tom's need to do animation. Instead of doing animation, Tom in this universe, along with Tord,mstarted a multi-million dollar company and became adult film makers. Tom and Tord also became friends in this universe. 

Next, Edd and the angel see Matt who was homeless in this universe. 

Every year, there's a Matt out there who's starving and don't have home. Christmas time is usually the worst time for a Matt since they don't live in a warm place and end up freezing to death. 

Last year, there's been about 300 Matts that had died during the winter but this where we put our foot down. I present to you the Save-A-Matt Foundation. With just 30 cents a month, you are helping all the homeless Matts out there and are spiritually adopting one.

(Editor: Uh... Lbat? What are you doing?)

 ..... Well, that was weird. Where was I? Oh yeah, homeless Matt. The angel tells Edd that Matt in this universe has became a tramp who begs on the street for money and food. Edd says that he looked weird only to realize that the angel was gone.

Hey Edd, there's no need to worry. The angel went off to get milk. He'll be back.... or maybe not. 

Edd was left in a world where he doesn't exist and he then walks over to a bridge and stares off into the distance. Edd says to himself that he wants to live again shortly before taking out a can of cola that was hidden in his pocket. Before Edd could finish his sentence about cola not existing, he suddenly gets transported back to the world where he exists.

He then races off to the Eddsworld Studios Building and once entering, he is greeted by his friends who were all standing in front of a Christmas tree. Tom wishes Edd a Merry Christmas before mentioning that he doesn't celebrate Christmas due to being a Jehovah's Witness which ends the episode.

The Verdict 

So, that's Eddsworld Christmas Special 2005 and man, it really does live up to being a parody of a movie that was released back in the 1940s. 

Do I recommend that you watch it? Absolutely! It's worth checking out especially if it's your first time.

Sure it's a little weird now to see the characters not being separated from the people that their based off of, but you gotta remember that Eddsworld started off with just four friends hanging out and having adventures together. Also Eddsworld was created 20 years ago by a teenager who was in his room and overtime it became what it is today.

My only gripes with this episode is that when guardian angel said that he'll make Edd change his ways, there wasn't anything showing that Edd's life was miserable or that he needed to change his outlook in life. In the original 1946 film, the main character was miserable about what his life has became and wasn't happy about it due to giving up his dreams by helping others. Meanwhile Edd, just drinks cola and ends up passing out. 

I'm not saying that this plot oversight makes the episode bad. It's a small issue that I'm willing to look over, but there wasn't anything suggesting that Edd's life was miserable. I could be wrong on this. That's why I'm asking you, the audience, on what you think. 

Did Edd's guardian angel came due to Edd spending all of his weekends sitting in a blank white room or did the angel came because Edd drank too much cola? Feel free to share your theory as to why. 

Anyway, I give Eddsworld Christmas Special 2005.... six, seven-ish, homeless Matts out of 10. In non homeless Matts, a 6 or 7/10. Basically either a B- or a C.

Greetings there, fellow Eddheads! I'm your host Lbat1901 and welcome to another Eddsworld episode review! Waiting for a new Beyond episode to come out takes forever. To comeback this, I decided to review one of the older episodes. I've been wanting to do this for a longtime but never got around to it until now.

Since it's the Halloween season, I decided to review a Halloween based episode which is why I'm a zombeh. Yeah, I wanted to get into theme of the episode that I'm reviewing and that would be the Zombeh Attack Trilogy. 

Anyway, enough of the intro. Let the review begin. 

*phone rings* 

What the? 

*takes out phone* 

I thought the person who was tasked with burying me took all of my belongings including my phone. I guess they forgot.

Ah well.

I wonder who's calling me though. Hold on

Hello? Who is this? 

Oh hey, it's the editor. How's it going? 

Oh, we're not reviewing the Zombeh Attack trilogy? Why not?

Ah, I see. 

So, I wasted my time finding a zombeh and getting it bite me? Well, that's unfortunate.

What am I supposed to do now? 

Oh, okay. Yeah, that would do I guess. See you later

*hangs up* 

Looks like we have a change of plans, ya'll. I won't be reviewing be all three parts of Zombeh Attack. Instead, I'll be reviewing Eddsworld Halloween Special 2007. Alright, let's get into it.

The Plot

Eddsworld Halloween Special 2007 was released on October 21st 2007 as part of the 2007 Halloween Flash competition on Newgrounds and it ended up in 9th place. It was later released on YouTube on November 2nd which was a few days after Halloween but better late than never. Unfortunately, YouTube upload was unlisted sometime after 2013 for reasons that we will get into after the review. 

Anyway, the episode starts off with Edd looking around until he gets hit with a pumpkin which gets stuck on his head. He struggles a bit while trying to get it the pumpkin off of his head until Matt sees him. Matt uses a sledgehammer and hits Edd with it which decapitates him. 

Uh Matt, there were other ways to get the pumpkin off of Edd's head without killing him.

After seeing this horrific scene we get the title card. After that, we see Edd and the gang at his house. Edd and Tord are playing Zombies At My Neighbors while Matt watches and Tom reads a newspaper. While playing with Tord, Edd hurls an insult to a very certain Hockey Mask Wearing Freak. 

Edd, that was rude of you. We don't throw insults at people. Words can hurt other people's feelings. 

The Hockey Mask Wearing Freak seems to agree with me as he does his very best Kool-aid Man impression by bursting through the wall. OH YEAH!!! 

The gang screams before running away as Hockey Mask Wearing Freak, who I'll be calling Michael Voorhees just to keep things short, throws two axes at them which misses them.

Wow, two axes? I wonder where he went to buy the. The price must've been pretty axing good. ....That was terrible, I know.

Anyway, the gang hides behind a wall while Edd peaks out. Tord asks him if the coast was clear. Edd replies with "nope" while we that the top of his head has been sliced off which reveals his brain. Edd then drops to the ground dead as Tord watches out of shock. 

This moment of slice doesn't last long, as Michael comes bursting through the wall while Tom, Tord, and Matt run away and hide. Michael passes by all of them only to stop when he sees Tord who was holding up a picture frame. This seems to distract Michael which allows Tord to completely sneak away. 

Tord eventually meets up Tom who tells him that they managed to lose him. Unfortunately, Tom gets stabbed from behind with a sword which makes Tom question why Michael has a sword. Michael drags the sword of Tom which causes large amounts of blood to splash over Tord and kill Tom at the same time. 

The chase continues as Tord and Matt run down the hallway before eventually going into a closet. However, Tord pushes Matt out and causes him to go on a massive panic. Michael makes his way over Matt who ends up kicking him right in the balls which causes Michael to be in pain. Matt then slowly back away only for him to fall down the basement stairs. 

Oh Matt, you tried to be cool but ended up failing. It's okay, I still like you but man. 

After watching Matt fall down the stairs, Michael continues his kill streak and kicks the door to the closet down. Tord backs away in fear as he watches Michael take the cap off the bottom of his axe which becomes a stake. Michael then proceeds to stab Tord with the stake which kills him instantly. 

After successfully killing the gang, Michael cleans his axe while whistling. The ghost of Edd taps his shoulder which gets his attention. Ghost Edd pulls Michael's mask and releases it which knocks him out cold. After knocking Michael out, the ghosts of Tom and Tord float over to Ghost Edd as he wondered where Matt was. As on cue, Matt comes up from the stairs still alive, bloody and injured. Matt then notices the ghosts of his friends and ends up dying from a heart attack out of shock.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Once the whole gang are now ghosts, they take the unconscious Michael over the city until they throw him off a cliff where his heads gets impaled by spikes which instantly kills him.

Now that's what I call a... FATALITY

When believing that everything was now over, the gang gets a ride surprise when the ghost of Michael rises up to get revenge on them. Unfortunately, all of them get sucked into a trap that was out underneath them thanks to the Ghostbusters and Luigi.

The episode then ends with the Ghostbusters theme which was removed in the 2016 reupload. Speaking of which....

The Verdict

So, is Eddsworld Halloween Special 2007 worth your time? 

Why of course it is. In fact, it aged surprisingly well. 

The most memorable thing about the episode is the brutal ways the main four got killed along with them avoiding a killer that probably has a high kill count whenever someone insults him. 

It's a shame that we never see Michael ever again. The last time we see him is in Bang, Boom, Splat! and in a photo cameo in Matt Sucks. I really hope he makes an appearance in Beyond where his character is expanded upon. I wouldn't mind if he had a background appearance. 

Also, it really sucks that the music in the episode was removed when it was given a HD upload. It's was due to of copyright because it had the Ghostbusters theme playing at the end. It was one of four episodes to be remastered due getting struck by copyright claims which really sucked but copyright is copyright even though the songs that were used gave the episodes some personality. Regardless of that one downside, the episode still holds up no matter what's being played in the background. 

I recommend giving the episode a shot especially if you haven't seen it before. No one talks about the older episodes all that much but they are apart of Edd's work and they should always be remembered. 

Anyway, my final raring for Halloween Special 2007 is an axe-wielding maniac out of 10 or in this case an 8 out of 10. I'm giving it an A.

Welp, the second part to surf n turf wars is finally here. I honestly thought it wasn't going to come out this year. Guess I was wrong.

Anyway, greetings fellow Eddheads! I'm your host Lbat1901 and I'm back with another exciting review. Today we will be talking about Surf n Turf Pt. 2. So, get your surf boards and swimming gear because we're heading back to the beach

Oh? What's that? You forgot what happened in the last episode? Oh, don't worry, I'll give you quick reminder with my epic narration voice.

*clears throat* 

Last time on Eddsworld Ball Z, the UK is suffering from a record high of extreme heat. The boys decided to go the beach after seeing a soda ad on tv. Once they got settled, the boys spilt. 

Matt goes off to collect sea creatures while Edd and Tom face off against three beach bullies who challenge them in a beach competition or in this case, a fun-petition. Edd and Tom got off to a rough start during the first contest. Meanwhile, a barrel containing a strange liquid substance falls off a ship and makes its way to the beach.

Not caring about his worries, Matt continues to collect sea creatures and he encounters a lobster. The lobster pinches Matt's eye which causes him to stumble into the barrel and causing it to break open. Matt mutants into a giant lobster monster due to being exposed to the mysterious substance from the barrel and roars.

Will MattLobster go on a rampage and destroy the beach? Will Edd and Tom stop their mutated friend? Find out in the next exciting episode of Eddsworld Ball Z!! 

The Plot

The episode opens up with a shot of a shark swimming along with a sign that reads "The Buoys". We see a stunt devil named Blonzie getting ready to make a dangerous jump while a few audience members begs him not to jump. Blonzie tells them that no one tells him what to do and proceeds to make the jump. Unfortunately for Blonzie, a shark jumps out of the water and kills him. Rest in peace, Blonzie. You may have only appeared for a few seconds, but you will never be forgotten.

After this unfortunate incident, we cut to a very muscular Tom who about ready to throw a volleyball while asking, well us the viewer, if we're ready to see the second part of Surf n Turf Wars and the volleyball match that they're playing as they face off against the beach bullies aka Josh and his lackeys. Yes Tom, we're ready and so is a very muscular Edd. Tom throws the ball into the air and Edd, with all his might, hits it. The beach bullies attempt to hit the ball back, but were crushed by the volleyball. 

As Edd and Tom celebrate their victory, we cut to MattLobster who was roaring. Instead of going on a rampage, MattLobster picks up his bucket of sea creatures completely not bothered by his sudden transformation. He proceeds to put more sea creatures into his bucket. It wasn't until, he tries to put a whale into the bucket. The whale slowly starts to get annoyed at MattLobster and ends up spouting water right into his face. MattLobster stumbles backwards as he knocks boats away. Luckily, he manages to catch himself and gives the whale a death glare before noticing the boats that he ran into. 

Before he does anything else, an ice cream truck pulls up and he immediately goes to it while dropping both his bucket and whale. The bucket lands on a man's chest and before he could even react, he gets crushed by the whale. 

As MattLobster approaches the ice cream truck, the people that were already there by it run away out of fear. MattLobster picks up the ice cream truck and begins licking the ice cream cone that was top of the truck. He stops licking it when he realizes that it wasn't real ice cream and drops the truck. The truck lands on a police car and the officer that was next to it begins calling for the military, the navy, the coast guard, and the girl scouts. We then get a moment where the officer's partner talks to him and they share a bonding moment which was nice to see.

Meanwhile, we see Edd and Tom in a tug-o-war match with Josh and his lackeys. Tom notices that they're missing someone and takes out a pack of Beach Hunks and uses water to make them grow. Edd notices them and asks Tom what are they and Tom tells Edd not to worry about them. 

Roman, the guy who's in charge of the contests from the last part, blows a whistle and the two teams begin pulling. Josh and his lackeys ended up beating Edd and Tom along with killing off the two Beach Hunks that Tom summoned to help them. Tom cries as his creations die as the beach bullies get a point. 

Back with MattLobster, the entire British naval force and coast guard make their way over to him. Inside in one of the ships, a female commander talks about her disgust towards MattLobster even to goes as far as to call him hostile. MattLobster just looks at her and waves a friendly "hello". The commander tells the ships to attack MattLobster which angers him and causes him to attack all the ships that were firing at him. One of the people on the ship says that the rounds aren't doing anything to MattLobster and the commander presses a button that activates a montage. 

Throughout this epic montage that beautifully drawn, we get to see MattLobster fighting an entire army and we also get Edd and Tom competing against the beach bullies. There was a spelling bee which Edd and Tom took literally by releasing a lot of bees, a surf off between Edd and Josh, a drag race. 

Wait... did I get that right? A drag race? Mmmm... Edd and Tom do look good in drag. I like it.

I would like to put out that in one of the scenes of MattLobster, Kim and Katya were seen escaping. I wasn't expecting to see them. It's nice to see them in a episode again. They've lacking in appearances since the beginning of Beyond. 

Anyway, the montage ends when MattLobster gets his claw caught in net and ends up throwing a ship right at a crushing ship causing it sink. We then get a Titanic reference with Rose shoving Jack into the water and forces him to drown. 

Back with the navy commander, she orders for canons to be fired at MattLobster which ended up bouncing off of him and they end up destroying nearby ships. MattLobster continues his rampage and destroys even more ships. 

Oh and can we talk about this moment with the guy and his binoculars for a quick sec? Is that Sonic and Shrek in my Eddsworld? Coincidence? I think not! 

Up in the sky, we see a girl scout troop leader talking to a bunch of girl scouts. The troop leader orders them to jump out of the plan and defend their country. They even brought cookies which MattLobster notices. Instead of catching the one girl scout that had the cookies or you know, catching all of them, he ends up eating all of them when they got close this o his mouth. Yes, you heard you that right. He literally eats them along with the cookies. 

....I think that's enough Eddsworld for one day. 

Anywho... Back on dry land, the last and final contest to be held was the sand building contest which Roman says that it should've happened earlier. Josh tells Edd and Tom to give up but they refuse. In order to show off that they refuse to give up, Tom coughs up a sand castle. 

Back with MattLobster, he was still fighting against the navy and coast guard but he was starting to get exhausted. He cools himself off with a helicopter before seeing a billboard that had a giant bottle of cola. MattLobster goes over to it in rushing speed only to slip on a banana peel and ends up falling hard on his back which causes a huge wave of sand to cover up everything that it touches. 

Meanwhile, we see two judges looking at all the sand castles and awarding two kids ribbons. When it came to judging the beach bullies and Edd and Tom, the judges didn't choose neither of them once they saw the mess that MattLobster did. Matt, who is now back to normal, climbs out of a giant hole that he made and get a first place ribbon. 

Edd and Tom congratulate Matt for winning the sand building context and oh, he apparently kept his shorts. Don't ask me why, I ain't no doctor. 

Josh claims that he and his lackeys aren't leaving the beach only to get crushed to death by the same whale that was seen before. Edd says that they crushed it during the contest only for Tom to say that the beach bullies are probably dead which makes Matt let out a sound of discomfort. 

After the credits roll, we get a memorial of Blonzie along with the timestamp of when he dead. After that, we cut to the barrel that was seen in the first part still leaking out the mysterious black substance which is contaminating the water. We then see a fishing boat along with the lobster that was responsible for Matt's transformation. The lobster gets transported to the city of London where it gets placed into a water tank at a restaurant along with a piece of the barrel meaning that someone might order lobster and might turn into a lobster monster. 

Mmmm... foreshadowing at it's finest and that's where the episode ends.

The Verdict

We finally made it to this part of the review. Does Surf n Turf Wars pt. 2 live up to the hype almost a full year of waiting? Is it worth your time? 

Well yeah, it does, but it does have its issues. I'm not saying that it's a bad episode nor anything, I just think it's mid. Yeah, I know that a hot take but hear me out. 

Allow me to it put it this way, Eddsworld is your favorite restaurant and they are famous for their famous and delicious French toast. You love their French toast because they know how to make it. One day, you go in there and see a new French toast option called Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 2. You order it and once you get it, it looks exactly the way how its pictured in the menu. You take a bite and tastes really good. However, there's something not right. You wanted syrup to go with your French toast but you never got it. You wanted the syrup for some extra flavor. Sure, the French toast tastes good but you want syrup. 

Are you still following me? No? Well, to keep things short, the episode does have good things and it has some bad things that are kinda holding it back

Let's start off with the goods first 

- The pacing was really good. There wasn't a single scene that was dragged out or went too fast which was an improvement over part 1. Part 1 had some certain scenes that were too long or were to fast. When I first watched Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 2, I managed to follow along without any issue. So, that's a big positive. Let's hope that the pacing is good in the future episodes 

- The montage was amazing. I really like Edd and Tom's montage more than Matt's but both of them were pretty good.

- It was nice to see a couple of returning background characters especially from older episodes like the grim reaper, one of the Atlanteans from 25ft Under The Seat, and the vampire from Matt Sucks. Also Kim and Katya were in the episode. Oh, how I've missed them so much. I'm glad that returned for this episode

- I really like the use of music throughout the episode. One of my biggest gripes with the Beyond episodes was the lack of music in scenes. It was nice hearing music in the background.

- I liked how MattLobster was just a big goober instead of just being a rampaging monster. If I was to ever transform into a lobster monster, I probably would be freaking out not gonna lie. 

Okay, that's all I got for positives. It's time for some negatives. Here we go. 

- If you were expecting to see some epic battle where MattLobster fights Monster Tom, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it didn't happen. The whole MattLobster part of the episode felt more like an afterthought than anything. 

The trio works best if they were all together. Not separately. Sure, you have something happen to one of them but at least have the other two acknowledge it. I wonder what Edd and Tom's reactions would be if they were to actually see Matt's monster form. Sorry but the monster Matt part of the episode was extremely underwhelming.

The episode should've started with Edd and Tom realizing that Matt isn't there and decide to look for him only to see him as a giant monster. The two work together to keep Matt from rampaging and scaring off everyone while having him use his newfound strength to win all the contests. Little did they know, the navy and coast guard has been watching them and they attempt to kill Matt, but Edd and Tom defend him as they battle the navy and coast guard. 

It's not perfect, but it's better than what we got.

- A lot of the jokes were visual which weren't all that bad and weren't dragged out. I wish there was more spoken gags, but that's just a tiny nitpick. Nothing too major.

- I was never a fan of the beach bullies and never will be. It should've been Eduardo and Mark to begin with.

So, how would I score this episode? Like I said in my review of Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 1, I usually review episodes that have more than part as one big thing. Surf n Turf Wars as a whole wasn't a bad two parter in the new era of Eddsworld. It could've been better yes, but they weren't terrible. 

Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 1 is a 7/10 and Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 2 is a 6.5/10. 

My final rating for both parts is a very muscular Tom and Edd out of 10. More specifically it's a 7.5/10 and it gets a B-.

Well, this took awhile to get out, but I finally I did. I'm going to share my issues with the Beyond era as I promised in my last discussion where I talked about my thoughts on the new Eddsworld Patreon tiers. 

To be honest, I had plans on doing this topic for awhile, but I never got around to it until now. Beyond has been interesting to say the least, so let's go over my issues with it shall we. 

Oh and before we start, I would to say that this isn't a "Beyond sucks" type of discussion. I want to see the era succeed, but there are just some things holding it back. 

Without any further delay, let's begin. 

My issues with the new Episodes 

You think I was going to rant on the quality of the episodes? Nah, I'm not. This topic is actually the least problematic thing about the era. Shocking I know. 

Beyond started off pretty strong with the release of Fan Service 2 and Casting Call. It was so strong that I gave both of these reviews positive scores and gave the top spot of where I ranked them at. Well, my thoughts changed abut Fan Service 2 overtime but that's basic human nature. It's not a terrible episode, it's just okay.

After these two episodes, the quality kinda shifted downwards. We would get episodes that are good and sometimes we would get episodes are, well to put it lightly, mediocre. I'm not counting the Youtooz figure promotional video and Zombeh Picnic since they're not really episodes. They're just filler.

I'm not saying that Beyond is the only the era that has a lot of mixed episodes. Both Legacy and Classic era also had their far share of stickers. Remember not every single Eddsworld episode out there is a 10 out of 10 episode. Some people have their favorites and some people have their least favorites. So don't get too bummed out when someone tells you that they hate an episode that you like. It's called an opinion after all. 

Anyway back on topic, the episodes that Beyond has can vary in quality. It mostly depends on the person. 

Next is the jokes and I was going to make this into its own section but decided not to because they fit into the quality of the episodes so let's talk about it.

I'm going to be very honest, the jokes in later Beyond episodes so far have been a mixed bag for me. Some of the jokes are alright and sometimes they can come out as flat. Sometimes there's no joke at all and sometimes the joke that being told just drags on. 

I do want bring up two episodes to use as examples.  

Let's start off The Chronicles of Santa. At the first glance at the episode started off strong. We got we got to see Santa again and it gave us a look at the first Christmas which took place during the Stone Age. My only problem with the episode is how brief it was. I expected to be a bit longer considering that Santa didn't have a proper translation for the stone cravings, but no, it just ended there. It didn't feel like an episode and there was nothing funny to remember it by. ....Okay, that last part was a lie. I've laughed a bit when Caveman Santa threw two heavy boulders at Caveman Edd and Caveman Tom, but it was more of a snort than a funny haha type of laugh. Is there anything else that was funny about this episode? Hmmm, let me check....*flips several pages*..... Sadly no. 

Surf n Turf Pt. 1 was an improvement over Beaster Bunny considering that it had a lot more time in the oven and it wasn't rushed to be released before a holiday. It's not a perfect episode, but it's a step in the right direction. However, when I had to write my review on this episode I would often skip one scene. It's the scene with the scientist guy who had a cure to everything. The joke was that he was avoiding different objects that could easily kill him and make him drop the cure to everything. It sure was a joke alright, but did it really have to drag on to the point where it just slows the pacing down to a crawl? Look, I get what you trying to do, you don't have to spell it out for me, Matt. 

Like I know you said that you took inspiration from Edd's older episodes along with the artsyle and said that you're improving them, but Edd didn't drag any of the jokes that were in his episodes. That's not improvement, you're basically taking a step back. Also, what do you mean by improving Edd's older episodes? Are you talking about the animation? The way how jokes are delivered? The atmosphere? Like seriously, what are you improving? You didn't really go into detail about it. 

I'm kinda stuck here not gonna lie. Anyway, let's move along before I get a brain freeze.

The new background characters aren't interesting

Before we get into this section, I would like to say that I don't hate any of the new characters that got introduced in Beyond. It's just that there's nothing really interesting about them. They just exist to fill in the backgrounds and nothing else. Half the time, their the original characters of the current animators who are working on the series so there's really nothing going for them.

I know that Matt said that he didn't want to keep reusing the old characters which is totally understandable, but at the same time, it feels like he's simply ignoring their existence sometimes. Actually scratch that, they have been appearing in illustrations on Instagram and Twitter, comic strips, and in videos on TikTok which is fine, but I want them to appear in actual episodes.  

Instead of having the Evil Director (aka Bing) doing evil schemes, we have some generic evil scientist guy that only appears in one episode and is just there.

Hey kids, do you want Eduardo to appear in another episode? Well, if you said yes then it's your lucky day. There's a new episode takes place at a beach, let's see if Eduardo makes an appearance. Oh? He doesn't? Well, there's a beach bulky that acts exactly like how Eduardo use to be. I hope you like him, because he's replacing Eduardo for this episode.

Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 1 wasted the perfect opportunity to put Eduardo and Mark in it. Instead, we get an Eduardo wannabe that has two friends that literally act like Mark and Jon. Like I said in my review on the episode, Eduardo and Mark should've been in it and I still stand by that opinion to this day.

Again, I don't hate any of the new characters. I'm just so use to the already existing background characters since they had a lot more development to the point where they made cameos in later episodes. Hell, not every single character needed to appear again considering that the fandom grew an attachment towards them and pretty much expanded on their lore. Take a look at Patryck for example, he only appeared in one episode for a few minutes while having only one line of dialogue and he instantly became a fan favorite all because of it. 

Maybe as time goes by, the background characters in Beyond will probably get a lot more development and we will see more of them in future episodes. 

And for the love god, can we please get Kim and Katya content. It's been a good hot minute since we've last saw them. It's literally June, you know Pride Month, right now. You would think that they would appear in a pride month post, but no.

They're completely absent even though they were the first characters in canon to be lesbians. God damn it, Matt, give me my Kim and Katya wedding already. Also, please add to Mark to the pride month posts as well. He's confirmed to be gay. Like c'mon on man.

( We interrupt to this program with some breaking news.

Hey there guys, this is editing Lbat coming to you live in the future. While I was editing this, a new Pride Month illustration dropped showcasing the characters that I've mentioned that have been absent in previous Pride Month posts. Also Laurel was there in case if you were wondering. 

Guess the ew crew will remember these characters whenever they feel like it; however, my point still stands, they need to make more appearances in Beyond. 

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming )  

The lack of hype surrounding new episodes 

Soooooo, we finally got to point as to why I wanted to make this in the first place. I was actually inspired by mxtellion's post on the topic of there not being any hype surrounding the new episodes and I wanted to give my two cents on the subject.

Beyond has a habit of dropping new episodes randomly without any announcement beforehand which I have nothing against. It's nice to be surprised every once in awhile, but there's just one problem, we don't get any previews yet alone sneak peeks whenever an episode is being worked on or is close to being released. 

It's just straight up radio silence. During the Legacy era days, we would get a small preview along with an update whenever there's an episode coming. If the episode was delayed, there would be an update saying that it was being pushed back and tomska would put something out on one of his two channels to keep us occupied while he worked on the delayed episode in question. 

In all honestly, it was a nice system. He respected the patience of the fans and he kept to his promise when it came to putting out an episode in the highest quality. 

Meanwhile in current day Eddsworld, we sit in limbo hoping that a new episode drops and are supposed to be hype the moment when get a YouTube notification from the Eddsworld channel. Like, what can you do to keep yourself entertained while waiting for new episodes especially if you don't interact with the fandom? I can't even imagine what it would look like if I was an Eddsworld fan who only consumes the episodes and not what the fandom does. 

It would be very dull and boring. Sure, there's the comics and merch, but those are small crumbs of content. 

I bet you guys are sitting there thinking: "Yeah, waiting a longtime for a new episode to drop takes forever. But Lbat, there's the Eddsworld Patreon. Surely there's updates on what's going to happen in the near future and the ew crew constantly updates it" 

Well yeah, you do have a point, but you've missed the part where it's behind a paywall and I actually do have experience with it. So, do they update the Patreon on constant schedule? 

Well, they do, just barely. During my time of being apart of the Patreon, it would take the crew weeks to more than two months to post an update. I know they're busy and all, but it wouldn't hurt them to at least post a text post. Like, they don't have to post every week, but once a month would've been fine. 

But no, instead of posting every once in awhile they rather give the people literally paying them every month dead silence. It's not fun and it's a waste of time to the point where it gets boring. 

I can't even recommend it to someone who wants to join the Patreon. It's not worth it. 

The usage of Tord's character

We're finally at the closing stretch and to end this discussion off, I'll be talking about the treatment of Tord's character. I've been saving this for last and trust me on this, I have a lot to say. 

Remember the whole ew crew drama that happened back in 2021? If you don't, well, Bing posted a video where he talked about Tom's arse and said some pretty mean things to people who ship tomtord mostly calling them terrorists. Yeah, it was... uh.. not good and it lead to a whole summer of callouts of Bing having sexual assume allegations. Also, two people on the team got called out as being groomers. Jamie Spicer Lewis (the voice actor of Tord in The End) got called out for being one and got kicked off the team. 

Also Matt got called out for saying something ableist towards people with DID. Man, the summer of 2021 sure was insane. A lot of that drama died down once Bing apologize for his comments on tomtord shippers.

I do recall talking about my thoughts on the subject and even made a follow up to it which you can check out.

But back on topic, I've brought up my distaste on how the crew responded to all those questions about Tord's character on their FAQ section on the Eddsworld website. The tone that they used to answer had to be most uncalled for thing ever and I still stand by what I said about it to this day. I had some people telling me that Bing and Matt got sick and tired of being asked where Tord's at and yeah, I understand why, but they could've worded it differently. 

Sure, if I was in their shoes, I would've gotten annoyed about if Tord will make an appearance in future episodes, but I wouldn't tell all the Tord fans out there to eff off after saying that he's not coming back. 

Well, I did get some insider information saying that there was a point where Bing wanted to put Tord in Beyond but Matt said no. So, Tord was suppose to come back at some point in Beyond's lifespan, but Matt shot that idea down. 

Well, it doesn't matter anyway since Tord made an appearance in limited time merch for Red October. Huh, that FAQ question didn't exactly age well. Yeah, the whole Red October came out of nowhere and it raised several red flags. 

Sorry, I had to do it. 

Matt knew for a fact that the event wouldn't do well if it was any other character. He knew that Tord was a fan favorite and nobody could say no to Tord merch and wouldn't dare to say anything against it. Yeah, that FAQ question was a goddamn lie. 

Sure, it was for charity but I'm going to be real here. I think some of that money went directly into Matt's pocket and to be honest, the whole Red October event just rubbed me the wrong. It just didn't feel right. ...Or.. it could be the tin foil hat that I'm wearing. Hmm... maybe.

Also, uh, Tord made an appearance in the latest episode, the Chronicles of Santa, only to die in seconds and I still question as to why they did this. Did they think it was funny or something? Well, you already know the answer, it wasn't funny. It was just plain out cruel. 

Matt literally jingled Tord keys in front of our faces for us to grab only to crush our fingers with a heavy weighted dumbbell. It's either you put Tord back in the show or you don't. You can't pick both, Matt. Like, make up your mind. Don't just put him back in one episode only to kill him off in mere seconds. Nobody asked for this. 

And there you have it, folks. Those are all of my issues with Beyond. It took awhile for me to get out my thoughts because I wasn't sure how people would react. 

Hopefully, what I said opened your eyes and made you think about how you feel about this era. Like I said at beginning p, I didn't make this to say that Beyond is bad. It has potential to be something great. It's just having growing pains as of right now.

Anyway, I'm going to go now just so I can let my editor, you know, edit this and get this out at the beginning of June.

It's been a long time since I've last talked about the ew crew. I was planning on talking about my biggest problems that I have with the Beyond era. However, while in the process of writing something popped out and it had something to do with the Eddsworld Patreon. So, let's talk about it. 

In case if you weren't in the loop, yes, Eddsworld has a Patreon and the ew crew made an announcement on Twitter a few days ago saying that they're making changes to it. They basically got rid of the old tiers in favor of having new tiers. 

You're probably wondering: "But Lbat, how could you say that the new tiers are awful?"

Well yeah, you do have a point, but that's only for the tiers that are under $60. Just wait till you see the highest tiers and folks, this is where my issues begin. The highest tiers are the Producer and Executive Producer roles which cost $150 and $250 respectively. 

Listen, I know that the ew crew needs more money to produce new episodes and shorts in the best quality as possible, but having these two tiers as an option is complete overkill in my honest opinion. 

What was Matt even thinking when he decided to revamp the Eddsworld Patreon? It's like he truly forgot that a majority of the fandom is made up of minors and young adults that don't have money yet alone a stable income. 

Remember when I said that nobody couldn't afford spending money on the lower tiers such as the former $6 tier that allows one to see the entire post feed archive? Well, that tier sounded pretty reasonable now in retrospect. 

Like who in their right mind is going to pay for a tier that's at the same full price as groceries? It's even worse if you live somewhere like Australia for example. In Australia you would be paying $400 for a tier that only gives you a title in the credits and nothing else. Oh, you heard me right. You don't get to work on the episode. 

If I'm spending over $200 for a tier like Executive Producer than I should be able to work and have full control on the production of an episode. But no, I just get credited by not doing a single thing. Just imagine being credited as a writer for a movie but you didn't write the script. It just doesn't make any sense. 

*sighs* 

I've avoided saying this for a longtime mostly to it sounding controversial and it may result in me getting flamed in the comments, but at this point i can't keep hiding it anymore. 

Matt just doesn't seem to care. He doesn't care if nobody can afford spend a lot of money on two expensive tiers. All he cares about is money. I know he's trying his best to keep Eddsworld going but the way how he's doing it just doesn't feel right. It feels very... cooperate. 

People complained during the Legacy era that tomska was "profiting off of Eddsworld" when it wasn't true. Tomska put a lot of heart and soul into Legacy and didn't need to make it marketable to make it successful. Legacy was made out of passion and love while Beyond feels like a puppet with no free will. 

So class, what did we learn today? If you're thinking of spending your money or parent's money on the Eddsworld Patreon, don't bother. It's not worth it especially if you want your name in the credits. As an ex-patron who paid $20 to have my name in the credits, it's a waste of time and money. Sure, it may be nice seeing your name in the credits to make all of your friends jealous but after awhile, the novelty wears off. Spend your money elsewhere.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about the situation.

At the end of the day, I'm just some random Eddsworld fan that made a full book that details all of my thoughts and feelings towards this web series which I made out of my love for it. 

Like my teachers during my time in school, I'm not mad at Matt. I'm just disappointed.

There's going to be 15 chapters to TBATF. We're at 8 chapters now. We're just halfway towards the end of this comic.

Alright, let's not beat around the bush for too long.

I'm Lbat1901 

(*Obi-Wan Kenobi voice*) Hello there

And I am the person who talks (mostly rants) about TBATF and how much I dislike it along with the people who made it. You guys really seem to like it when I rip this comic into shreds which is exactly what I'm going to do by reviewing the latest chapter. 

So without further ado, grab some snacks and kick your feet up cause I'm about to take through Chapter 8 of TBATF. All 62 pages of it. 

It's Morbin time...

Chapter 8 begins with Paul and Patryck confronting Matt about what happened in the last chapter that involves the death of Cyberus, the robotic dog that Matt killed. Matt is quick to say that he's innocent. 

Cue the montage where Paul and Patryck are both idiots and that the TBATF crew uses this as the only character development for the two because they couldn't be bothered to try anything else. 

Surprisingly, their bickering allows Matt to sneak away because why not.

If you look closely at the words on the bottom of the panel, it reads: "This comic is NOT associated with Eddsworld. Solely fanmade by four-hot-as-hell women". I know that I've pointed it out in my chapter 7 pt. 2 review, but I'm pointing it out again because I really hate it. It just fills me with so much unbridled rage. 

However, this is the only panel that's shown. It's the only saving grace of this chapter.

Anyway, Matt encounters Richard who asks about Cyberus and apparently he gave each head a name which was unexpecting and completely took me off guard. This also took Matt off guard before lying to Richard that he didn't see them. 

Richard understands before giving Matt some cookies and biscuits. Also they're gluten free because Matt is allegoric for some reason before leaving. 

And oh my god, the "four hot-as-hell women" disclaimer is back. I thought it was only to be shown in the first page. Guess I was wrong. 

...Kill me.... 

 As I try to not lose my mind, Matt curses Richard and his amazing baking skills under his breath only to dragged to the side by Paul and Patryck who warn him not to sneak around before taking his biscuits for killing Cyberus. 

Paul and Patryck's moment of flexing at Matt doesn't last long as blonde haired general lady from the last chapter pops up just to scold at them. I'm going stop here just say that her name is actually Brianna. I was told this by a lovely DeviantArt user who goes by xPeachyStrawberryx who commented on my last review. I knew she had a name and that the characters in the comic mentioned it several times, but I couldn't be bothered to look for those said moments. 

This is like one of my biggest gripes of this comic. There's too many damn female ocs that overshadow the already existing characters from Eddsworld. They also don't play much of a role and they are just there to be for eye candy and nothing else. I wish this comic had a role call or something similar to what manga has when they have a huge cast of characters by giving them a short bio when there's a new volume. I also wish that the comic had like a summary of what happened in the last chapter just to make things easy in case if I plan on doing a huge review of this comic once all 16 chapters are released. 

Is it possible that the TBATF crew would do something like this? Probably not because they really don't care. 

I apologize for this long tangent, I just wanted to get this out of my system. Anywho, I'm not going to call blonde hair general lady by her actual name. From now on, I'll be referring to her as Karen because she looks about ready to complain to thmanager. 

Anywho, Matt must have felt that I was sick and tired of seeing Karen pop up and bully Paul and Patryck and decided to splash mud all over her and tells her to clean up the mess which makes her really pissed.

Matt makes Karen look even worse by calling Dollar Store Tord ( yes, I'm still calling him that ) and having him scold at her as well. Paul and Patryck were left impressed by what Matt did and they thank him for it. I can't I'm saying this, but I actually enjoyed this part of the comic. Does it make the rest of the comic better? No, not really. 

One week has passed and we're back with Edd or should I say Discount Edd because this version of Edd is nothing like the Edd that I know and love. Anyway, Discount visited by the puppet versions of Matt and Tom which is referencing the episode This World of Edd and folks, this is where I lost it. There has been several references to episodes in this comic but this has to be the worst one that I have ever seen. 

The puppet versions of Matt and Tom mock Discount Edd and pretty much make him look pathetic. It's also painfully unfunny. Listen, if you're planning on making a fan comic based on Eddsworld and want to make references to episodes don't make the reference so unbearable to watch to the point where it gets irritating. 

I refuse to believe that TBATF crew thought that this was funny. "Solely fanmade by four hot-as-hell women" my arse. 

*inhales before exhaling calmly* 

Alright, alright.... I'm calm now. Now, back to Matt who's with Paul and Patryck and they're doing some kind of circus act involving a lion, a hoop that's on fire, snakes, and a cardboard box that has a rocket tapped to its side. Before they could perform the act, Karen comes in and scolds at them for slacking off. 

Matt tells her that he has to do a montage before he could do any work and so, he does his montage which pisses off Karen again. Meanwhile Paul and Patryck prank call General McCoy as Karen looks at them with a look an annoyed look. Before she could insult them, Matt comes in and saves them by knocking over a jar containing a monster and runs off. 

Ah yes, I'm actually enjoying these parts where Karen suffers because she deserves it and hey, Tom makes an appearance after TBATF crew seemly forgetting that he was in the comic. Guess they didn't forgot about him after all. So yeah, Paul and Patryck try fixing Tom the Prop's visor by using bubblegum and he ends up tossing Karen to the wayside. 

The Karen suffering train continues as Matt tells her about his allergies as Karen asks how to deal with them. Matt tells her to order pizza and throws a pizza party which makes Karen regret her life decisions. 

During the pizza the party, Paul and Patryck talk to Matt about Dollar Store Tord's parents not being hardened war heroes. The only person who didn't attend the party was Karen who was recovering from her embarrassment from Matt and unfortunately, her recovery doesn't last long as Matt, Paul, and Patryck flood the hallways just so they can pretend to be pirates. Luckily Richard was there to help her and clean up the mess. 

Vlahd shows up as he gives Matt a look of disgust and it's the same look that I use whenever I have to look at this comic. Anyway, Vlahd's look of disgust makes Matt cry for whatever reason. Before we are given a reason as to why Matt got all upset, Eduardo comes bursting in. 

....Oh Eduardo, what have they done to you in this comic? You were kinda okay in Chapter 4, but now you're just sad look at it. They butchered Eduardo's personality so hard in these later chapters. 

It would seem that Todd is also dead at this point. Just like Mark, he wasn't given a proper death scene. I know that Mark and Todd didn't really much, but the TBATF crew could've treated them with some respect. My goodness....

Anyway, Eduardo proceeds to go on tangent and complain about everyone who was in the same room as him and my god, it just doesn't hit right. Eduardo please stop. Please I beg you. You're only kicking yourself to the ground. Oh, please make the Eduardo slander stop. He's already dead.... 

*falls to flat onto the ground and proceeds to cry in Spanish* 

Spongebob narrator voice: Thousands Of Tears Later  

...Okay, I'm back. So, after witnessing the sad and painful display of Eduardo, Dollar Store Tord congrats Karen for disposing Eduardo while saying that Vlahd has lost his touch which angers Vlahd. 

As Vlahd and Dollar Store Tord leave, Paul talks about where and how the Red Army on this very strong Russian fellow. We get a flashback and.... oh my, why are they drawn so realistically? Why do they have noises? It looks so wrong. This is- This is cursed. Oh my god, I can't- I'm sorry can't take this flashback sequence seriously. I remember when this page got released and everyone was laughing at how ridiculous it looked. 

It doesn't get much better as there's a flashback sequence on how the Red Army managed to get their hands on Richard. Oh my god, Dollar Store Tord has a typical evil cartoon villain mustache. I wish I was making this up but it's real thing that happens in the comic and my god, I can't.... I can't take this seriously. But hey, it kinda makes sense a little that Richard acts like a literal cartoon character that's from the 1930's and this flashback actually looked pretty nice.

It's a shame that this was meant to be serious but it ended up being ridiculous. I can't stop laughing at this. Oh my god....

So anyway, Richard performs a show for Matt, Paul, and Patryck which has him chopping off his head and putting it back on like nothing happened. ....Why did we have to see this? 

Suddenly, Paul gets an idea to steal something from Vlahd and Patryck refuses saying that they might get killed. Paul and Matt ignore his warning because of course they would. 

While Paul and Matt go off to rob Vlahd, we go back to Discount Edd who breaks the fourth wallaby jumping through panels to avoid guards. Hmm... if Discount Edd has the powers to jump through panels than why doesn't he jump to where the comic ends? Oh wait, because that would make sense. 

In Discount Edd's secret place, puppet Matt and Tom convince Discount Edd to arm himself with weapons which he does. But before he could anything else, a Red Army guard breaks into his place and Discount Edd makes a run for it. 

Along the way, he encounters Laurel and..... he proceeds to use his broken panel hopping powers to avoid her like the plaque. ...Wh- What the? ....What did I just witnessed? I'm at a lost for words here. However, I wasn't mad that this. If Discount Edd were to stop and listen to what Laurel would've said to him than that would be another already established female character being ruined. 

Laurel, if you can hear me, run. Run for your life before it's too late. Hurry or else your personality would get butchered only to make the one dimensional female ocs made by the TBATF crew look better. 

Also I would like to point out that Ringo hasn't been seen after Discount Edd left her to die back in Chapter 7. Is she even alive? Did she fight back? I don't know. The TBATF crew doesn't seem care to tell us. How dare they disrespect Ringo like that. You don't leave her to die. It still pisses me off to this day that Discount Edd didn't even bother to take her with him. So much for being a responsible pet owner. 

Back with Matt and Paul's mission to steal something valuable from Vlahd, Paul spots a Fabergé egg which were created by using precious gemstones and metals. They are very popular, cost millions of dollars, and are very hard to find. Vlahd must've been very lucky find one or he probably received it as a gift. Anywho, Matt looks at a picture while Paul figures out how to open the egg. He basically forces it to open and it turns out the egg was a music box. Before they could do anything, they hear Dollar Stire Tord and Vlahd approaching the room that they were in. 

Paul pretty much abandons Matt to die as Matt felt betrayed by this. Paul heads out of the room and talks to Dollar Store Tord. Matt proceeds to hide as Dollar Store Tord and Vlahd comes into the room. Dollar Store Tord begins to question Vlahd about what happened back at the amusement park which gives Matt the time put the egg back where it was. He had to act fast since Vlahd was checking the entire room to see if anyone touch anything while he was away. 

Dollar Store Tord ends up ticking off Vlahd by saying that he always miss up his missions and let's everyone down. He even brings up Vlahd's daughter saying that he failed her as well. Uh, I wasn't expecting Vlahd to have a daughter. Well, this is a surprise. 

Vlahd is forced to listen to what Dollar Store Tord had to say before suddenly snapping when he gets called weak for not being able to protect his daughter and oh my gooooood..... he starts up grabs Dollar Store Tord by the neck. Oooooooooooooooo......

Can it be? Is Dollar Store Tord going to die? Is he finally getting killed? Oh my god. ....Yes! Yes! YES! Finally, I get to see this sorry for an excuse version of Tord getting his throat ripped out. I've been waiting for this moment. The moment that would make this comic redeem itself. 

Hang on, let me get my cup of tea and some snacks. This is going to be good. 

Yes! Squeeze his neck, Vlahd! Do it! Make him choke to death! Yeah! 

Don't let him mock you, Vlahd. What's Dollar Store Tord going to do you? Nothing, you're a big strong- ...... Uh, did Dollar Store Tord just claw at Vlahd's bandages and he immediately goes down? That's it? 

......... Great. Now, my tea is cold. 

How? I thought Vlahd got a zenkai boost from surviving from his injuries. I don't believe this. I refuse to believe this. This is impossible. Vlahd literally has super strength and he take a multitude of hits. He can also survive from getting crushed to death from falling debris. He should able to take one swipe from a pair of claws that come from Dollar Store Tord. I mean he took hits from Monster Tom who had frickin' claws. Vlahd is literally, no, doubt, the strongest character in this comic in the same spot as Richard. 

I am so mad right now and so is Vlahd as Dollar Store Tord brings up how disappointed he is and even mentions that if they haven't met than Vlahd would've been left to rot in his.... discontinued comic...? 

Wait, Vlahd came from a different universe? This came out of nowhere. ....It all makes sense. No wonder why the flashbacks of how the Red Army got Vlahd and Richard looked so bizarre. They came from different universes. So, does this mean that Dollar Store Tord has a portal where he can travel to different universe and recruit people for his army? Where and how did he get these resources? Where he get the plan for this? Are the female ocs in this comic including Karen from different universes as well? 

There's so many questions and no answers. Nothing makes sense anymore. ...I am... I am so confused. ...Ugh.... I think my brain is leaking out of my ear...

....As Dollar Tord prepares to leave the room after breaking down Vlahd's will to live, Vlahd speaks English and tells Dollar Store Tord that he'll never be able to defeat Discount Edd. Dollar Store Tord slaps Vlahd and says that he'll just have play dirty just to get rid of Discount Edd. Vlahd seemingly remembering that a simple slap doesn't faze him charges at Dollar Store Tord and attempts to break his robotic arm only for Dollar Store Tord to electrocute Vlahd which Paralyzes him. Matt takes his as his sign to get out of the room and Tord tells Paul that he's giving him his right hand man back.  

Matt manages to get far away from Dollar Store Tord and encounters Eduardo who's trapped in a room. Matt being an idiot like always thinks Eduardo is a clone and Eduardo just insults him. Oh please, somebody kill Eduardo already. I don't want to see him in this comic anymore. Make the suffering stop. 

Eduardo tells Matt to free him and Matt remembers that he has a key card and uses it only for it to not work. Because plot reasons that's why. ...Oh gee....

Matt hands the key card to Eduardo as he leaves to attend a party and that's the end of Chapter 8. 

It sure was something alright...

Oh hey, you've made it to the end. Congrats! Yeah, Chapter 8 was sorta of a mess. At least it wasn't as bad as the previous chapter but man, it was exhausting to get through. 

Matt was still an idiot in this chapter but hey, he put this to his advantage to annoy the living hell out of Karen. It was actually very satisfying. Never mess with Paul and Patryck or you'll regret it. 

This is going sound a little harsh but the only way for this comic to get better is to kill everyone off expect for Vlahd and Richard. Those two are the only likeable characters. The rest of them though... they're not really likable. I've brought up Eduardo, Paul, and Patryck being the only characters to be portrayed well. Well, after seeing them a couple chapters later, I've changed my mind on them. 

Look what they did to Eduardo. Sure, he was a jerk in the series but in this comic, they took it to the extreme. They massacred both my Brooklyn accented man and my main four boys with colorful hoodies. It's just sad to see them like this but at the same time I want them to die horribly just to put out of their misery. 

If the TBATF crew refuses to kill all of these characters off than they can just have Discount Edd sing Goofy Goober Rock to defeat Dollar Store Tord and save the world in the final chapter. I wouldn't actually mind that to be honest. 

People always ask me why I tend to torture myself by reviewing these chapters. My reply is that nobody wants to do it and that I seem to be only person that's brave enough to take the bullet.

This review took a very long time to do. I was planning on getting it out as soon as the comic went on hiatus back in July 2022. Yeah, the TBATF crew decided to go on a long break to focus on other things and in my honest opinion, it should've been cancelled. But eh... you always don't get what you want. 

Anyway, I appreciate you guys for checking out my review even if you agree or disagree with my thoughts. It's fine you enjoyed the chapter or like the comic despite its many problems. My review isn't meant to change your mind on how you view the comic.

Welp, I didn't expect there to be a new Eddsworld episode yet alone a short, but here we are I guess. Like my review of Zombeh Picnic, there's really not much to say considering that the short is not even three minutes long but I'll give you the plot anyway.

So, we got an episode that basically takes place around Christmas. However, instead of having an episode where Edd, Matt, and Tom go on an adventure, we have Santa as the focus.

This time, he's telling us about the first Christmas which took place during the prehistoric age.

Basically the first Christmas started when the caveman versions of the main three got a visit from caveman Santa himself. Oh? What's this I see? There on the couch. The one dressed in a red cloth. Is that... Tord? Oh my, we finally get a first glance at the caveman version of Tord. I wasn't this at all. How lovely.

I wonder what his first words will be- oh.... he gets crushed by a big rock and dies instantly on impact.

Well... that escalated quickly.

Umm.... this is... this is awkward.

*clears throat* So... anyway, after caveman Tord's unfortunate and yet devastating death, caveman Santa starts giving the caveman trio their presents that being huge boulders. He doesn't hand them over gently, he straight up throws them. Guess caveman Santa has been hitting the gym.

He throws them so hard, that caveman Matt's boulder ends up hitting him into the face causing him to evolve into having a beautiful face. The boulder cracks open revealing there was a diamond inside and caveman Matt's reaction is to stare at his reflection and admire himself.

Unfortunately this doesn't last long as caveman Matt's own reflection was enough set the entire house on fire. So, caveman Matt pretty invented the mirror and fire.

And that was the episode. Pretty short, right? Yeah, it was something alright. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't in the leagues of Casting Call. It was an alright short.

Now, the difficult part is where I'll place in my tier list consisting of all Beyond era episodes ranked. While I figure that out, in the meantime, what did you guys think of this episode. Did you think it was good or bad? Let me know in the comments.

I have no plans on making a full on review on the latest Eddsworld video, Zombeh Picnic but I'll share my thoughts about it

Tbh I wasn't expecting there to be a new short considering the fact that it's been a month since Surf n Turf Wars Pt. 1 came out.

But it was a nice surprise. I thought the music video was a nice tribute to the classic episodes such as Zombeh Nation and the Zombeh Attack trilogy.

A thing that really bothered me ever since the Beyond era was the lack action and less dialogue. Zombeh Picnic was a breath of fresh air.

The song itself was a bop and I would definitely listen to it for hours. We also got Zombeh Eduardo and Mark along with the zomeh versions of Edd, Matt, and Tom.

I really liked the part where that old lady was fighting against an entire hoard of zombehs. It really made my day.

This may be a controversial opinion, but although Zombeh Picnic was a nice treat for the Halloween season, Trick or Threat out beats it because its more iconic. I'm not saying that Zombeh Picnic is bad or anything, its just that Trick or Threat is the go to song for Halloween and everyone knows it by heart
