Zombeh Nation (review)

Posted by Lbat1901 - 6 days ago

*at a mall somewhere*

Finally, at long last, I've managed to get supplies for my Halloween party. Now, all there's left to do is pay the register and head home.

*walks over the register only to see that no one was there*

Huh, that's weird. I could've sworn that there was someone working at the register. Hmm... I'm sure that they're busy stocking stuff and they will eventually come back.

*suddenly notices a tv that had the news on which showed the entire city including the mall was being overrun by zombies*

Oh, well that explains I haven't seen a lot of people today. I thought that everyone was at work. Ah well, but hey, at least I got a fully functioning mall all to myself and I do whatever I want until I get saved.

So, what should I now? Oh, I know! I could always do an Eddsworld episode review and I already got an episode in mind.

Greetings there, fellow Eddheads! Lbat here and welcome to another episode review just in time for the Halloween season. Today, I will be reviewing Zombeh Nation which features well... zombies. Zombeh Nation was released on November 11th 2006 on Newgrounds and on YouTube a day later. It focuses on Matt who gets stuck in one place while Edd, Tom, and Tord are set on a mission to rescue him.

So, without any further ado, let's get into the review.

The Review

The episode starts off with Matt on a train in the London underground after a long day of... whatever thing he was doing. The episode doesn't really say but let's just use our imagination and say that he was doing an intense session of square dancing. Once the trains stops, Matt goes over to the door to leave the train only to get ambushed by a zombie which took Matt by surprise.

Before the zombie could attack, Matt was quick to push the zombie away only to see a horde of them. Matt quickly makes a run for it and even ends up pushing a zombie off an escalator. He eventually makes it to the exit but unfortunately, it's locked. The computer tells him to get assistance; however, Matt finds out that the assistant is dead as he makes the "._." face. I feel you Matt, I also make that face whenever I have no idea what I'm doing.

Anyway, Matt calls Tom and asks for help which Tom delivers the message to Edd who ends up asking why. Matt proceeds to tell that he has stolen a six pack of cola which gets Edd's attention. While on their rescue mission, Edd, Tom, and Tord pass by a mall, a haunted graveyard, and an old house. They eventually decided to go into the old house while hoping that it was safe. Uh guys, I think you had a better chance of sneaking pass the zombies by going through the graveyard.

Sadly, their choice to go into the old house turned out to be the worse decision as the trio gets get ambushed by zombies. The trio fights off the zombies before locking themselves in a bathroom.

Back with Matt, he is seen in search for a weapon until he finds a monkey with cymbals only to come to the conclusion that it was seen as predictable before throwing it. However, the monkey with cymbals ends up killing a zombie that was sneaking up from behind Matt. Eventually, Matt finds a mop and ends up killing two zombies as he showed off his amazing skills. Didn't know that Matt was a certified black belt in martial mob arts. The more you know.

Back at the old house, Edd, Tord, and Tord start brainstorming ideas on how to escape. Edd comes up the genius idea of taking over the with bacon only for Tord to hit Edd on the head with a baseball bat. Tord literally told Edd to go to jail while bonking him on the head. The trio eventually escapes while riding in a vehicle called the Bathmoblie as a high lighted version of the song Running in the 90's plays in the background.

This is the part where I tell to go listen to the song. It's really good. Yeah, I said it. Now, where was I? Oh right.

After crashing their mode of transportation, the trio finally makes it to Matt who's patience was already starting to fade by that point. If he were to wait any longer, he would've pulled a Thanos and say "Fine, I'll do it myself" before wiping up half of the universe with a single finger snap.

Anyway, Edd and Tom proceed to throw Tom right through door which makes it open. If you're ever in a need to get a door open just throw your friends at it. You may break their bones and teeth along with running your friendship but it works. Trust me, I've tested it.

Eventually, the four head to the exit only to find out that it's blocked by zombies. The four fight off the horde as Matt and Tord set them on fire. Unfortunately, the zombies were improvise to the flames since they're already dead. The four make a break for it as they escape a massive fire that was getting out of control.

Fortunately, they managed to get out of the subway although slightly tired and injured. Tom then looks up and sees a helikopter, helikopter.

(Editor: *does a hard sigh*)

Thinking that they were being saved, the four cheered but the victory gets cut short as the helicopter reveals two machine guns and proceeds to shoot the four, killing them all instantly. And that's the end of the episode.

The Verdict

So, does Zombeh Nation hold up on its own or not? Surprisingly, it does. Yeah, you heard that right. Despite releasing between Zombeh Attack 2 and Zombeh Attack 3, Zombeh Nation managed to share popularity with the Zombeh Attack trilogy and is still being talked about within the fandom to this day.

Hell, there was a redraw challenge that happened not too long ago where fans would draw one scene from it which proves that it's a very popular episode.

My final rating for Zombeh Nation is a 9 out of 10. It goes right into the S tier.

And that's the end of my review. What are your thoughts on Zombeh Nation? Let me know down in the comments. Now, if you excuse me, I got a date at the ice cream shop right here in the mall.

This has been your host Lbat and I'll see you in the next episode review. Hopefully, we get a new full length Beyond episode.

Anyway, that's enough from me. Take care and goodbye.
