I would like to say that I don't hate Tord as a character, I only despise his Legacy counterpart and I would also like to apologize to those who like Legacy Tord beforehand since I kinda got heated during this rant

[A tablet gets thrown at Lbat's face, but Lbat manages to catch in time. The tablet shows Tord in his giant robot facing the camera with an evil smile]

Hello wonderful people, Lbat1901's back. Yayyyyyyyy.....

Welcome back they say. Welcome back. I haven't gotten a warm welcome back after since I came back from doing that 2018 review and I began writing that thing since the early spring and late summer of 2018. Technically my last entry was the controversy surrounding the halftime show for Super Bowl 53 and I don't care about football at all. 

Originally after like two weeks since the first episode for Developer's Round Tape, I was going to do the top 5 episodes to Eddsworld, but I guess that's going to be delayed for awhile since I'm doing this. So instead of having a top 5 list, I'm doing a rant for the first episode to Channel 7 Lucky Hour. 

Oh so much joy I know. 

Enough dragging our sticks in the mud, let's get right into it shall we. 

As you may already know, Eddsworld has been around for over a decade and there is no excuse of having a great cast of characters for those many years. Today we will be talking about everybody's favorite character of them all: Tord. 

Everyone should know about Tord. He's the trigger happy, gun wielding, hentai loving, hater of the song Sunshine and Lollipops Norwegian character with the red hoodie (well black jacket as in the earlier days of the Newground era) and the devil horns. Did I mention that he's a communist as well? 

Back in the early Eddisodes, Tord was portrayed as a character who's happy and yet quiet. He also hated Tom, but despite this, he became a lovable character. I mean he was so lovable that he was the most popular character out of the main four being Edd, Tom, and Matt. 

Even though Tord had a lot of fame in the series, there were a couple of things that became a little...intense. This brings up the fact that fanboys and the fangirls who were overly obsessed with Tord decided to stalk the real life Tord. It was so bad, that the real Tord told Edd to get rid of his character completely which gave us the Eddisode, 25ft Under the Seat where we see Tord leave. Now you would think that this would get rid of the problem, but it didn't. The fans would harass Tord on all of his social media accounts leading him delete himself from the Internet completely. 

All of this happened in 2008. It wasn't till in 2012, where Tord comes back with a video on YouTube shortly after Edd's passing. He talked about why he left and to be honest, I don't blame him. I mean I would exactly do the same thing that he'll do, because I don't want to be stalked by fans especially if their girls. Why? Because that's just wrong and creepy. Plus it's like really disturbing. Tord's reasoing why he left were understandable, but the fans....they were pissed. They were so pissed off at what Tord had to say which made him disappear from the face of the web. 

So in conclusion never take your love on a character too far or else you get these mistakes like this one. At least Tord's okay now, right? He deserves a break from all of the crap that he had to deal with. Also I'm pretty much blaming those obsessed fans for this. It's their fault not mine. Pretty much after Tord's departure, Eddsworld kept going. It wasn't until 2016, where The End was released. Oh my god...at first I was excited to see both parts, but it only gotten better when Tord was confirmed to make a return and that got me happy. Four years after Tord left, he was finally returning just for the last two Eddisodes for Legacy. And boy, it sure was something. 

First off seeing Tord in the Legacy artstyle was great. The lead up for Tord's return was also great. The only problem was that...Tord changed a bit too much. Sure seeing Tord again was alright and he did kept his happy trait, but there was one tiny issue. Tord talked way too much. Look it's not a problem at all and I can see why Tord would be talking. I mean it has been years since he has seen Edd, Matt, and Tom. I am aware that he had a million questions, but here's the thing, Tord was always quiet. 

I know that this may be a small nitpick but....remember when I said that Tord hates Tom? Well in The End this was taken to the extreme. Sure the hatred is reasonable but it was taken way too far. Another thing is that Tord became cunning. Don't believe me? Well explain to me why he was seen laughing evilly about to press a red button then. That's not the Tord that I know.

Okay, okay, you The Enders may hate me for disliking the new and improved Tord, but in order to prove that I as a veteran Eddhead, I have decided to look at The End with a fresh pair of eyes.....after three years later. Yeah...I've only watched it once and never again for some reason. Well whatever the case, I'll watch it again. Spoiler alert: I don't think my thoughts and feelings are going to change when I first watched it after those so many years.

N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶m̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶c̶h̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶E̶n̶d̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶a̶g̶a̶i̶n̶.̶

So...I just got back from watching both parts and...I know exactly why I didn't watch them after the first time. The first time i was watching them would be for my list of the best Eddisodes and somebody told me about The End. I wish I haven't seen both parts. I know for a fact that there is no such thing as bad Eddisodes, because they're all amazing, but The End....it totally ruined Legacy for me as a whole. Well not completely, there are good Eddisodes that came out of it but The End doesn't deserve my time. Do you want to know I think of both parts? Part 1 was "meh" and part 2, you can forget about part 2, it was nothing but a train wreck of mediocrity. 

The End has truly ruined the character of Tord. It made him look like a villain and all of us know that Tord was never evil to begin with. But you need to look at the demographics. There are new fans coming in each and every passing hour and minute a day. Most of these fans are kids and most of them had never watched the older Eddisodes of Eddworld. Those older Eddisodes had Tord in them, but are they caring? No they aren't. Instead they're watching Legacy where Tord is portrayed as a bad guy. And that really breaks my heart. I'm not even joking when I say this. 

What's even worse is that the entire Red Army is seen as villains all because Tord has some connection to them. Sure it may have brought some good AUs, such as the Red Army AU, Crisis AU, and yes even Future AU, but at the same time, it's not right. Yes, the fanart looks amazing, but this is not how some fans see the Red Army as. 

Now it's time for me to go on about the next thing. You all know about TBATF (The Beginning and the Friend) right? I do admit that the writing is great, the premise is great, the people who created it are great. But do you want to know how it can be better? Do you really want to know? Come closer and I'll tell you. Just a little more and there you go. TBATF could be a lot better if Tord and the Red Army weren't in it. You heard me right. Sure Tord being in the fancomic is fine, but how he's portrayed in it....I don't like it. Not at all. I also would like to admit that his outfit (in later chapters) and appearance in it looks cool, but it just pains me to see him like this. It's even painful when I read the parts that he's in. 

So to end this rant off, I like Classic Tord way better than Legacy Tord. Sure seeing Tord in Legacy was a blast, but you will see where the improvements stop once you go deeper into The End as a whole. If someone were to join in the Eddsworld fandom and doesn't have a clue on where to begin with the Eddisodes, I would tell them to start off by watching the Newgrounds era and work their way up, but I won't tell them to watch The End at all. Oh and uh...I do write Tord into my Eddsworld related stories but I always get comments from people who ask me when I'm going to make a story where Tord's evil. Well that isn't going to happen anytime soon. The only story I have was The Real Reason Why and it had Tord in it, but he rarely gets any spotlight.

It's uncertain if Tord is coming back in future Eddisodes or not, but if he were to come back, I hope he's not evil and if he will be, then I would be so sad yet angry. That's why I'm being the leader of this: #maketordgoodagain or to simply it: #letsmaketordnotevil 

Also quick shoutout to archonedd for reminding me how much I despise The End and encouraging me to make this rant. This topic has been burning a hole in my chest for far too long, now it's all out. 

And oh, can we have the next five minutes about talking about The End is the most popular Eddisode out there. Guess what? It isn't. You can fight me out on the streets. But seriously, every time when I search up Eddsworld onto YouTube, every single time, The End is the top result right under the official Eddsworld YouTube channel. I hate it so much. Fun Dead should be the top result *coughsWTFutureactuallycoughs* not The End.
